Lindsay Gable, Mezzo Soprano

Lindsay Gable is thrilled to be working with Little Opera On the Prairie as the Witch in Hansel and Gretel. LOOP is a fantastic organization, dedicated to the cause of bringing opera to audiences that may not otherwise experience it, which is a very worthwhile pursuit. It also provides invaluable experience for young singers starting out in the business.

This past summer, Lindsay attended Opera NUOVA's 6-week intensive program, where she performed as Fruma Sarah in Fiddler on the Roof, as well as chorus in Dialogues des Carmélites and L'Elisir d'Amore. She also sang in the Broadway, Opera Scenes, Sacred Song, and German Song Soirée concerts. In December, she will be a soloist with the University Chorus' production of Bach's Magnificat, and in March she will be playing Mrs. Trapes in the U of S Music Theatre Ensemble's production of John Gay's The Beggar's Opera (as realized by Benjamin Britain).

Recently, Lindsay has played Cinderella's Stepmother in Into the Woods with Greystone Theatre and Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors with the U of S Music Theatre Ensemble. She has sung with the Saskatoon Opera chorus several times, as well as assistant stage managing many of their productions in recent years. She has also acted as their props mistress, and conducted the offstage bacchanal in La Traviata.

Lindsay loves everything to do with both music and theatre. She has played piano and sung from a very young age, and though she started her music and theatre studies at Sheridan's Musical Theatre performance program, she has since changed her focus to opera and will be continuing to pursue operatic studies in the coming year.
